What we do

We have been hired by the Montfoort municipality as Traffic & Mobility Manager. This covers a wide range of everything that needs management within the municipality’s mobility task. Which exemptions can be granted? How can traffic be diverted and at the same time relieved during events? What are good places to place charging stations?

How we do it

There are existing zones where people are not allowed to park. We help look at who then still qualifies for an exemption. We also advise on permits. When building new homes, it is important to determine what parking requirements fit with them and are sustainable in the new urban landscape to be realised. Is there enough room to grant the permit or are other solutions conceivable? We calculate this and advise whether it is possible to deviate from the existing parking standard.

During events or works, it is important to divert traffic. These are often interesting tasks, weighing up various issues to minimise congestion and delay. This also involves ensuring that the safety of visitors during events is not compromised. Careful placement of fences and targeted positioning of traffic controllers are important in this respect.

We also look at existing traffic situations in terms of safety and flow. Can crossing points be repositioned or are additional (bicycle) exits possible?

The result

The great thing about an (ongoing) assignment like this is that the result cannot be defined in a large final product, but is the sum of many small parts. Of weekly, relatively small, but important solutions, which ensure a better and safer traffic situation in Montfoort.
