What we do
Schiedam is looking forward to the start of construction project De Nieuwe Kethelpoort (dNK). The Nieuwland district will gain about 190 homes. The municipal executive held a development competition for the redevelopment of this location. Development combination Maas Wijkontwikkeling and FSD, in cooperation with Waal, emerged as the winner of this competition.
dNK consists of two beautiful, robust warehouses with 156 apartments, fourteen ground-level town houses, a loft building with twenty apartments and a mobility hub suitably finished with wood and greenery. Thus, dNK effortlessly blends in at the neighborhood and new neighborhood level, seamlessly integrating with the existing neighborhood. Across the new city neighborhood runs a green runner that acts as a real lifeline – a centrally located, so-called slow-traffic route.
Via the Parkweg you can pass under the A20 to Beatrixpark and via the Poldervaart to Midden Delfland or the other way to the city center, making it all easily accessible.
Why we do this
We worked with FSD Development, where we were responsible for writing and implementing the mobility aspect of major FSD developments. Within this collaboration, we participate in several tenders. This way we ensure that the mobility aspect in the projects is as sustainable and innovative as possible.
The result
With the informative fact sheets we target municipal employees who come into contact with Smart Mobility concepts from, for example, policy development, project implementation and/or enforcement. With the fact sheets, we want to create awareness and insight about what is needed for Smart Mobility concepts and what the consequences of these concepts are.
